Mr Tan Wee Beng is the Deputy Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). He leads the Business Technology Group, the Incentives Management & Enforcement Group, the Regulations & Quality Group as well as the Corporate Development Group. He is also the SSG Chief Digitalisation Strategy Officer, leading SSG’s digitalisation and data strategies with Chief Information Officer and Chief Data Officer.
Prior to joining SSG, Wee Beng was the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Singapore Navy, overlooking a range of ground commands as well as staff departments. Other key appointments included heading the Navy’s Operations Department, the Intelligence Department, the Maritime Security Task Force, the Navy’s Naval Diving Unit as well as the Force Planning Branch. He also had stints as then-Defence Miniter/Deputy Prime Minister’s Military Private Secretary and the Chief of Defence Force’s Special Assistant. He also led in numerous initiatives to transform the organisations under his charge, such as establishing the new National Maritime Security System for Singapore, the new Maritime Security Task Force of the SAF, and re-organising the Navy’s Operations Department for the future.
Wee Beng holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Physics from Oxford University, a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program from Harvard University and a Senior Fellow Public Service of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
